Who you are dealing with

This website is operated by AFRIWORLDTRADE GROUP LIMITED, trading as AWT Oil, from Kariakoo, Fire Area, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. References to "we", "us" and "AWT Oil" mean that company.

AWT Oil supplies engine, gear, hydraulic and transmission oils, greases and two-stroke oil under two brands, AWT and Farasi. Both are supplied by the same company from the same warehouse.

Prices and product information

Prices shown are in Tanzanian Shillings and are indicative until confirmed on an invoice. Trade prices apply only to approved trade accounts and are not available to retail buyers.

We work to keep specifications, pack sizes and stock levels accurate, but stock moves continuously and a listing is not a guarantee of availability. Where a specification matters to your application, confirm it with us before ordering.

Technical standards quoted on product pages (API, ACEA, ISO VG, NLGI, DOT, ASTM and similar) describe the specification the product is formulated to meet. They are not a warranty of performance in any particular machine.

Orders

An order placed through this site is a request to buy, not a completed sale. A contract is formed only when we confirm the order and issue an invoice. We may decline or adjust an order where stock, pricing or delivery cannot be met.

Orders are payable in full before or on delivery. We do not sell on credit and do not operate credit accounts, settlement periods or deferred payment of any kind — a trade account governs pricing and service, not payment terms.

Delivery

Inside Dar es Salaam and Dodoma we deliver on our own vehicles and we are the carrier. Payment is made when the goods reach you.

Everywhere else in Tanzania, payment is made in full before the goods move. Transport is by a third party, arranged either by you or by us on your behalf, and the freight is settled the same way — direct to the transporter, or to us where we arrange it.

We are responsible for the goods up to and including handover to the transporter: correct items, correct quantity, sound condition. Responsibility passes to the carrier at that point.

Where a consignment goes out with a third party you receive the waybill or consignment number and the transporter's contact details, so you can deal with the carrier directly.

Delivery timescales quoted on this site are estimates based on normal conditions and are not contractual deadlines.

Check goods on arrival. Report shortages or wrong items within three working days of delivery so we can resolve them.

Returns

Unopened product in resalable condition and original packaging may be returned within fourteen days of delivery, quoting the invoice number. Opened lubricant containers cannot be returned, because the contents cannot be verified once a seal is broken.

Product supplied to a specification you confirmed, or ordered in on request, is not returnable unless it is defective.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Subject to that, our liability in connection with any order is limited to the invoice value of the goods concerned, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, downtime or damage arising from use of a product outside its stated specification.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, and the courts of Tanzania have exclusive jurisdiction.
